About
BAMF
Since 1996, the British Art Market Federation (BAMF) has united the UK’s diverse art and antiques sector from leading auction houses to dealers, galleries and antique specialists, representing all the major elements of this significant sector of the UK economy. The British art market is unusual for being a global entrepôt market place, and to maintain its position must remain active in cross-border trade.
It is recognised as the official sector body to represent the interests of the British Art Market in Westminster, and beyond, it ensures the UK stays ahead in the fast-moving global art world.

What we do
BAMF was formed to communicate a single, clear and coherent message to the government on matters of relevance to its members. We regularly commission independent economic research into the market.
Our aim is to ensure that the UK maintains a competitive environment for art sales and that we retain our status as a leading market hub within the global art market.
We strive to ensure that legislation supports and effective art market and does not impose unnecessary burdens on the many small businesses that BAMF represents.
